We all have those mornings where there just isn’t enough time to do a full face of makeup, right?!
Whether we forgot to set our alarm the night before, we hit snooze one too many times, our kids are being extra wild, or we just don’t feel like getting out of bed until the very last minute, we all have those rushed mornings!
And during those rushed mornings, we’re lucky if we get properly dressed and out of the house on-time, let alone with a full face of makeup!
Even on these mornings, when you don’t have a lot of time, adding a few touches of makeup in the right places can totally transform you from looking tired and drab to awake and refreshed!
So, in today’s post, I’m sharing 5 must-have makeup products that are quick and easy to apply, and will completely transform your look.
In addition to being your go-to makeup products whenever you’re short on time, these 5 items would also be perfect for those days that you’re just feeling a natural look!
So, without further ado, let’s get started!
- Concealer / Tinted Moisturizer
quick easy makeup 5 steps concealer
This step will totally depend on how much coverage you prefer – you can even skip this step if you’re comfortable with being bare-faced!
Even when I feel like I had a really good night’s rest, I still somehow manage to wake up with dark circles under my eyes.
A quick way to remedy dark under-eye circles is to apply a bit of concealer under your eyes in a upside-down triangle shape.
You don’t need to apply too much – just apply enough to cover your dark under-eye circles.
You can blend it out with a damp makeup sponge, or even your finger! If using your finger to blend it out, be sure to use light tapping motions with your ring finger.
Your ring finger has the least strength out of all fingers and will be the gentlest on your sensitive under-eye skin. We don’t need to speed up the aging process by unnecessarily tugging on our fragile skin!
This will brighten up the area so much and make you look so much more awake!
Concealer can also be used on any blemishes or dark spots you wish to cover up. Use the same method of lightly blending it out with a damp makeup sponge or your finger.
I have lots of blemishes I like to cover up, so concealer is a life-saver for me!
My Concealer Recommendations:
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer // Sephora | Amazon
Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Concealer // Ulta | Amazon
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge // Ulta | Amazon
In contrast, if you prefer not to use concealer and want something even simpler to even out your skin tone, a tinted moisturizer is the way to go!
Moisture and a slight tint of coverage in one step! Many tinted moisturizers also include SPF to protect your skin from sun damage.
You can apply tinted moisturizer with your hands, just like you would apply regular moisturizer – just remember to wash your hands after.
Tinted moisturizers will normally leave you with a slightly dewy finish, but lightly dusting a translucent powder on top will create more of a satin finish and leave your skin dry to the touch.
Or, you can go without powder – it really all depends on your preference of finish.
My Tinted Moisturizer Recommendations:
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer // Sephora
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer // Sephora
- Brows – Pencil, Powder, or Gel
quick easy makeup 5 steps brows
Having my brows filled in is definitely one of the things that I absolutely cannot leave the house without doing and that’s totally non-negotiable! However, I have really sparse brows, especially at the ends.
If you have naturally full brows and you don’t feel the need to do anything to them, you can totally skip this step!
Or, just use a clear brow gel to keep your hairs in place.
But, if you do feel the need to fill in your brows, I recommend using a fine-tipped pencil that allows you to create hair-like strokes quickly, or just an eyeshadow/brow powder that matches your hair color to fill in sparse spots.
When you’re in a rush, even just refining the ends of your eyebrows and filling in sparse spots can make a huge difference!
Brows frame the face and can completely change your look – it can make you go from looking tired (with sad drooping brows) to awake and refreshed.
My Brow Product Recommendations:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz // Sephora | Ulta | Amazon
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer // Sephora | Ulta | Amazon
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo // Sephora | Ulta | Amazon
NYX Micro Brow Pencil // Ulta | Amazon
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel // Sephora | Ulta | Amazon
quick easy makeup 5 steps mascara
Even if you don’t do any other makeup like eyeshadow or eyeliner, you definitely cannot skip mascara!
Mascara is just like brows are to me – I can’t go without it!
In fact, before I started wearing as much makeup as I do now, I would often only wear mascara on my eyes. No eyeshadow, no eyeliner – nothing!
It makes such a big difference in opening up the eyes and making them appear larger, thus making you look more awake and refreshed.
Plus, who doesn’t love having pretty lashes?!
If you don’t have time for any other eye makeup, be sure to take just a few moments to pop on some mascara. It completely transforms your look!
My Mascara Recommendations:
L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara // Ulta | Amazon
L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara // Ulta | Amazon
- Blush or Bronzer
quick easy makeup 5 steps blush bronzer
Whether you choose between blush or bronzer will definitely depend on your preference, or mood that day.
Or, if you can spare a few extra minutes, you can do both!
Blush and bronzer are two really easy ways to give your complexion some life.
I know when I’m sleep-deprived and feel like I want to just lay in bed all day, it totally shows in my skin!
Adding some blush or bronzer is a quick way revive your skin if it looks a little duller that it usually does.
If you’re a fan of the cute rosy-cheeked, flushed look, go with blush.
And if you’re a fan of the sun-kissed, just came home from the beach look, go with bronzer.
My Blush Recommendations:
NARS Orgasm Blush // Sephora | Amazon
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso // Ulta | Amazon
My Bronzer Recommendations:
Benefit Hoola Bronzer // Sephora | Amazon
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer // Ulta | Amazon
- Lip Balm
quick easy makeup 5 steps lip balm
Lip balm is actually my preferred type of lip product, regardless of how much makeup I’m wearing or how pressed for time I am.
I just love the ease of application and the comfort that a lip balm provides. It’s so easy to just swipe it across your lips and you’re good to go!
There’s no need to line your lips with lip liner, no need to be careful about it getting outside of your lip line or on your teeth, and no need for a mirror to reapply! It’s just so quick and easy.
There are also so many different kinds of lip balms now – and if you’re thinking about Chapstick when I say “lip balm,” you’re right, that’s totally a lip balm, but there are also so many other types of lip balms out there!
I love using a lip balm that is very close to my natural lip color to just enhance the color of my lips.
For me, this is a light pink lip balm that leaves just a bit of shine to make my lips look hydrated without being too glossy.
There are even lip balms with plumping ingredients to make your lips appear fuller and “juicier!” If you’re into that look, it is definitely worth giving a try!
My Lip Balm Recommendations:
Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm (I use shade Perfect Pink) // Sephora
NARS Orgasm Afterglow Lip Balm // Sephora
Dior Lip Glow // Sephora
